This notebook has the Intel Core 2 Quad process (Q9000 (Penryn)), which features 4 processing cores running at 2 GHz.  It has 6 MB of L2 cache and a front side bus that operates at 1066 MHz. It’s a 64-bit processor built on a 45 nm die. For memory there is 4GB DDR3 SDRAM installed, with the capability to expand to 8 GB. With the cores and the memory, you’ll be a multi-tasking master.

A 17″ WXGA+ LCD widescreen display with 1440 x 900 resolution is your window to your Windows.  It’s a dual CCFL back-lit LCD with higher brightness than a single CCFL unit and has 8 ms response times. Powering the display is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M graphics chip.
It features 1GB dedicated video memory, so no shared-memory slowdowns. The chip has 112 CUDA cores and the chip runs at 1375 MHz.  For maximum gaming compatibility it offers support for Microsoft DirectX 10 and OpenGL 2.1.

For storage this laptop comes with a 500GB Serial ATA (SATA)  hard drive (7200 rpm).  Plenty of size and speed for everything you want to throw at it.  The optical drive is a Multiformat DVD±RW/CD-RW drive with double-layer support.

There is a built-in 2 megapixel webcam and microphone for easy video chatting or Skype chat around the world.

To get your digital pictures or other files onto the laptop, you can use the 8-in-1 digital media reader, which supports Secure Digital, Secure Digital IO, MultiMediaCard, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, xD-Picture Card, High Speed Secure Digital and Secure Digital High Capacity formats. Or if your recording device needs firewire this laptop has a IEEE 1394  port and 4 high-speed USB 2.0 ports. Also one eSATA/USB 2.0 combo port with PowerShare.

For online gaming you’re going to want a responsive Internet connection.  On this system you can use either the Dell 1510 Wireless-N mini card (802.11b/g/n) for wireless connectivity or the built-in 10/100/1000 Ethernet LAN (RJ-45) for your wired connection.  There’s also a built-in Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR interface.

Other external ports include an HDMI port, VGA port, 2 headphone jacks, 1 microphone jack, an ExpressCard slot, and center speaker and subwoofer audio out.

The operating system is Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64-bit for compatibility with all those games.  Other software includes a 30-day trial of McAfee VirusScan Plus.

This is not a system you want to carry around very often.  The dimensions are 2.02″to 2.11″ (H) x 15.98″ (W) x 12.65″ (D). It weighs in at an impressive 11.68 lbs, so it could be used as a weapon if needed.
