This HP Pavilion is powered by the dual-core Intel Core i5-450M processor. This is a 64-bit CPU with 4 processing threads. It runs at 2.4GHz but can use TurboBoost to get up to 2.66 GHz when it needs to. This is a 35W processor. The laptop comes with 4GB of 1066MHz DDR3 RAM gives you the memory you need to multitask without a worry. It can hold a maximum of 8GB.
The screen is a 14.0” diagonal High-Definition HP BrightView LED display with a resolution of 1366×768. External ports include 3 USB 2.0 ports (2 USB, 1 shared eSATA/USB combo), 1 HDMI port for connecting to your HDTV, 1 VGA port for connecting an external monitor, 1 headphone out and 1 microphone in. Other features include Dolby Advanced Audio with Altec Lansing speakers, and a 101-key compatible keyboard with a full-size island set up.
This Pavilion comes installed with Genuine Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit edition. Other software includes Symantec Norton Internet Security 2011 60-day Trial, HP SimplePass Identity Protection; HP Power Manager, HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection, and Microsoft Office 2010 preloaded (purchase of a Product Key required to activate a full Office 2010 suite).
The laptop measures 13.42″x8.98″x0.98″/1.27″ and weighs 4.41 pounds. That makes this a pretty portable laptop. The 6-cell Lithium ion battery pack can provide up to 6 hours and 30 minutes of unplugged power which is very nice.
