Good Code, Bad Code

By Scott Small

(To the tune of "Good Times, Bad Times " by Led Zeppelin)

In the days of my youth
I was taught what it means to write programs,
Now I've mastered code
I've tried to optimise things the best I can.
Save a few seconds here,
But still no one ever seems to give a damn.

Good code, Bad code,
You know I've wrote my share;
When an infinite loop
Caused the app to sieze
Well, you should have heard me swear.

Sixteen: I fell in love
With a Commodre Vic Twenty
Only took a couple of days
To run out of mem'ry
I swore that I would never use
a gosub subroutine
But when I tried to fix a bug
I nearly punched the screen, oww.

Good code, Bad code,
You know I've wrote my share;
When an infinite loop
Caused the app to sieze
Well, you should have heard me swear.

I know what it means to pop the stack
I sure do wish I had a Mac
I don't care what Bill Gates say,
You need more memory than six forty K
You can't see the flow within my code
Realize, I'm paid, even if the system's slowed
