I agree with the wheel of time stuff with RJ. I actually made
it to book 6 in the end before quitting. Reading them is better I
think as you can skip big chunks of boring bits, which is a bit harder
on audiobook.
The end of the book is actually quite good, the last 100 pages or so
STUFF ACUTALLY HAPPENS!one!!!eleven it is his viral way to suck you in
to get the next one. I do wonder how good the "epic" would have been
if it had been properly paced and kept down to 6 books or so.
I had a similar problem with the sword of truth series, where I quit
after book 4. The first book is excellent, the 2nd is good. 3rd
average. 4th poor. at point I gave up as there was a bit of clear
trend, to predict the 5th book :D.
Now I know two series to avoid. Anything else out there I should avoid? Let me know.
