BBspot Mailbag

Now you too can enjoy my Inbox without the annoying spam. Every week I get some amazing e-mail. Some amazing because of the sheer cluelessness of the sender, some because of the time and energy that went into crafting them and some are just simply amazing.

Subject: Lance Hatler House- Real??
To: briggsb@bbspot.com

Dear Mr Briggs

I am emailing you on behalf of a Japanese TV production company based in the UK. We are currently researching into unusual houses and we happened to find your blog article for Lance Hatler in Kentucky...

http://www.bbspot.com/News/2002/08/house.html

Is this house actually real? Looking at the picture it looks like a modified photograph but I just thought I would check... I have tried looking for other sources on the net but I could not find any.

Do you happen to have any contact details for Lance? If so could you kindly pass them on to us...

Anyway I look forward to hearing back from you.

I suppose I could've pretended to be Lance Hatler, but it would've fallen apart eventually.

Looks like they put another person on the job, shortly after responding to that message, I got another email from another person looking for the same info...

Dear Mr. Brain Briggs,

Hi! My name is Chiho Fujii. I work for TopSpin Creative Corp., a Japanese TV production company based in New York City.

We are currently working with Fuji Television Network (major network in Japan, equivalent to ABC) on a documentary program entitled"Amazing Stories", similar to 60 Minutes and 20/20 style of program.

In the upcoming episode, we are featuring amazing homes from around the world and found your report on Mr.. Lance Hatler's home.

There is a picture on the article and was wondering whether the house looks as it does on the photo?

http://www.bbspot.com/News/2002/08/house.html

*Above is the link to the article in question. Also, I was wondering whether you could help me in contacting Mr. Hatler to ask a few more questions about his home.

I apologize for this sudden request, but due to the time sensitivity of this program, I would very much appreciate for your help.

Thank you in advance for your time and cooperation and look forwards to hearing from you.

I uploaded the Mailbag and yet another email showed up...

To: briggsb@bbspot.com

Dear Mr. Briggs;

Hello. I'm sorry to bother you with this email. My name is Maiko, I'm from TV production company called xxxxxxx in Venice Beach, California.

Currently, I'm working on one of our Japanese clients' longest running TV Shows named " Unbelievable". The show is one of the most popular TV shows in Japan, and it airs on the nationwide Fuji Television Network each Thursday at 8:00pm. Each week, the show features various incredible stories from all over the world, which had influenced many lives in amazing ways, and encourage viewers to think about the special theme, featured in each episode.

We're searching for "Unbelievable House", and I was researching online and found your article about the "Overclocked house in KY". And our client is really interested in featuring this topic on their show. I'd like to know if the story and the attached picture are in fact true.
Furthermore, I'd like to know if you are interested in participating.

Please contact me as soon as possible.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Wow, will there be another?

Our recent story about the iPhone hacker heading to Guantanamo snagged a few BBelievers. This thread has multiple sightings...

I think AT&T put pressure on the gov. to make an example out of this kid.

And...

What a crock of shit.

Indeed.
