Ask Slashdot: Can I Use Unix For Helping Children Read?

ScissorJammer asks "I just started playing around with Unix and it looks very powerful.  I started thinking that this program might be perfect for my plans of helping children read.  Has any other Slashdot user tried using Unix in this way, or is the Open Source community not really into helping children read?  Either way I'd like to hear your views."
