Dangers of the Web

By Francisco Rangel

(To the tune of Down Under by Men at Work)

Net admin at a random Comp'ny
Unpatched IIS, an open proxy
There was no firewall, he should be nervous
Cannot prevent denial of service
And I said...

Do you think that you're safe from hackers?
You cannot fend off attackers.
They'll install lots of password trackers!
You better patch, or they will take over.

Running Spybot and then Ad-Aware
On a 10 Gig drive and full of spyware
I said, "Did you check-a the license?"
Sadly no, it took up a megabyte bandwidth.
So I said...

You've got Bonzi, you've got Gator
They'll track you sooner or later
Don't you know that the risk is greater
This software sends stuff to its creator

Reading e-mail, saw her one day
An attachment, opened right away
I said to the girl, "Do you have an AV?"
But she looked at me like I had rabies.
So I said...

Do you bother to scan your e-mail?
You think neglection will prevail
And you think it's a tiny detail
Your files are gone, all you can do is wail
Yeah!

Surfing on a web of danger
Your firewall's bad, you should change her
Lots of threats, lots of evil strangers
You better just unplug your computer.

Working in a land of users
Where people don't know computers
Can't they see, can't they see their blunders?
I wanna go hide under the covers
