BBspot Mailbag

Now you too can enjoy my Inbox without the annoying spam. Every week I get some amazing e-mail. Some amazing because of the sheer cluelessness of the sender, some because of the time and energy that went into crafting them and some are just simply amazing.

Believers

Some poeple are worried about Google's new search formula, like this message board poster...

Heavier weighting for the .name top-level domain, hmm, its pathetic...

See the rest of the comments.

On the day of the Feng Shui motherboard story, I received a spam from a case manufacturer. I replied asking if he had a case for the Feng Shui board...

If it's not money the Believers want, it's love or at least a video card that helps with self-love...

dear briggs,
hey i recently read one of your articles on this new video card and about how it has body mapping. Well I was wondering if you knew any online store that sold that particular one. I tryed to search for it online but was only able to find that older version of this company video card. any help would be gratefully appreciated.\
thank you in forwarding,
james

I told him that they stopped making it.

It's an oldie, but someone found the article on PHP use believable...

Is this for real? I am doing reseach on the ridiculous use of Zero Tolerance. I found a link to your article on a anti ZT web site that lists it as "humor". However, it is not so far fetched given the hundreds of other ridulous stories I have been reading.

Survey Says 72.8 Percent of Open Source-Hackers Cross-Dressers

By Reinhard Gantar

According to findings of the independent research-firm, Alexis de Tocqueville Institute, Open Source-Hackers have a significant tendency to wear women's clothes when no one is looking.

The survey is in surprising compliance with Steve Ballmer's earlier comments on CNN's Tech Report that Linux, an important Open Source-product, is "more of a girl thing" and his despising remark of Linux-advocates being "disgusting deviants who sit down for pissing".

The release of AdTI's survey as well as Ballmer's sound bites provoked outrage in the open source-community and called to arms prominent figures and spokesgeeks. Open Source-guru Eric S. Raymond, also an avowed gun-nut, immediately responded by putting pictures on his website showing himself taking a leak while standing and blowing holes into a portrait of Steve Ballmer from his .45 Glock in the process.

Richard Stallman, an almost mythical figure and founding father of the open source-movement, showed up for a press conference in a rustic cowboy-costume, complete with snakeskin boots and fimbriate jacket. After calling Ballmer a "loudmouth pansy", Stallman casually showed off how he could spit over more than 30 feet.

Linux-inventor Linus Torvalds promised in a phone-interview to "kick Uncle Fester's [that is Steve Ballmers] butt pretty good" soon and to "settle this for good" by "making him cry".

Mattel, since June a subsidiary of Microsoft's Home Entertainment Division, announced a special Edition for its successful "Barbie"-line of products. In the works is a Barbie clad in a "ssh -l root" T-Shirt, a "server-room"-Barbie coming with crimp-tools and various diagnostic instruments as well as a "Cubicle-Barbie".

Steve Ballmer was not available for more defamatory statements.

That's all for this week!
