BBspot Mailbag

Now you too can enjoy my Inbox without the annoying spam. Every week I get some amazing e-mail. Some amazing because of the sheer cluelessness of the sender, some because of the time and energy that went into crafting them and some are just simply amazing.

BBelievers

After all the dead baby jokes, I feel really bad about this BBeliever. It looks like somebody BBelieved our recent story about babies being banned from flights...

Subject: What's up with the babies these days?

First: Thanks for a fantastic funny site.

I know, I know: It's definitely not funny, but I've been reading your mail bag where one reader complained about dead baby jokes. 30 minutes ago, I read this on your site:

"Anyone with a small child will be asked to either discard it or stow it in their checked bagged" and now I read this on BBC:

"The body of a dead baby may have been dumped in a bin in the toilets at Heathrow Airport, police have said. "

Again, absolutely not funny, but spooky anyway.

This is just sad. This is one case where I really, really hope it wasn't a BBeliever.

End of the Dead Babies

After the deluge of email last week about the dead baby joke BBlooper, the email slowed down a bit. I did get one from the person who sent in the BBlooper itself though...

YAY, someone got angry at me :) :) :), seriously i just sent the BBlooper because it shocked not necesarilly funny, i mean i have a baby sister and brother and i know it must be awful to die in a van but come on it was some serious coincidence. And yes i know thats just wrong to make fun at but come on we are making fun at the webpage and making fun of he coincidence of events which made that happen and not cruellly making fun of someone who lost their baby.

Thanks for writing in Ignacio. Those still upset by the BBlooper can now contact Ignacio at 555-BABY.

Snakes in a Mailbag

I lamented about the Internet hype for Snakes on a Plane in the BBlog and asked for feedback if anyone had seen the movie. At least one reader has and this is what he thought...

Subject: Snakes on a Plane

I just got back from seeing snakes on a plane, and I have to say it actually is an enjoyable fun movie. The whole premise of the film is so silly, and they pack it in with countless cliché characters (the two kids by themselves, couple returning from their honeymoon, the lady with a baby) that the whole thing is just over-the-top fun. It's sort of like Airplane but with way fewer jokes and more violence. Also more snakes. Even my fiancée Heather enjoyed it, and she doesn't like horror movies (Signs freaked her out).

You should all know that Cam is Canadian, so you have to take his review with a grain of high-potency British Columbian reefer.

Weekly Limerick

The winner of this year's Geek Limerick contest has volunteered to write a weekly limerick for BBspot. I haven't decided where to put it yet, so this week's I'll put in the Mailbag...

That's all for this week!
