BBspot Mailbag

Now you too can enjoy my Inbox without the annoying spam. Every week I get some amazing e-mail. Some amazing because of the sheer cluelessness of the sender, some because of the time and energy that went into crafting them and some are just simply amazing.

OK, this first one isn't a BBeliever, but look what one commenter said about the game I posted the other day...

From the comments: This games is retarded

Glass houses and such.

Does Rupert Murdoch really want to remove News Corp's websites from the Internet?.

From the comments: I thought this was just a joke until I did some checks...

"In recent months, Murdoch and his lieutenants have stepped up their war of words with Google, accusing it of "kleptomania" and acting as a "parasite" for including News Corp content in its Google News pages. But asked why News Corp executives had not chosen to simply remove their websites entirely from Google's search indexes, Murdoch said an even bigger move was on the cards next year."

From what I read that completely confirms my story.

From TotalFark (subscription only): Murdoch won`t be having anybody read his version of the state run propaganda then

And you thought all the Nigerian billionaire BBelievers were done...

From the comments: Dr Esenam Ayele,

i am not one who spends time on the internet so much but reading through dome of your deeds on this site just gave me an incentive too write.I do not know if i am throwing words into the air but i will take the chance.

I have just secured an admission with a flying school and i am having problems gsining governmental funding so i am looking for well meanining nigerians to assist in this regard.

Please if you feel generous enough to help me i would be most greatful. I can be contacted with the email above if you need verification of my admission information.

Thank you sir.

If you follow me on Twitter, already know abou this one, but on Monday a Senior PR person from Electronic Arts decided it would be a good idea to ask me to remove my story about Tiger Woods and Leisure Suit Larry...

Brian,

Please remove the following article from your site: http://www.bbspot.com/News/2009/12/tiger-woods-electronic-arts.html

Not only is the article completely false, but you also list a quote from fictitious employee (Mary Cameron, director of marketing for EA).  This is leading to some media outlets posting this story as fact, as they aren’t familiar with the game industry enough to realize how preposterous this is.

Please remove this article immediately and contact me when complete.

 Best regards,

Here's what Wil Wheaton had to say about that...

@briggsb I would introduce them to the concept of satire and its protections under the law.

Hello EA, meet my friend the First Amendment.

And some more discussion on the topic here.

(Note: please don't send hatemail to EA sports. It is not nice or necessary at this point.)

That's all for today. Stay geeky!
