BBspot Mailbag

Now you too can enjoy my Inbox without the annoying spam. Every week I get some amazing e-mail. Some amazing because of the sheer cluelessness of the sender, some because of the time and energy that went into crafting them and some are just simply amazing.

BBelievers

The story about the teen posing as a record executive on MySpace that lured bands to Los Angeles still is getting some BBelievers. Most are from the MySpace profile we created to go along with the story...

Messages received at the MySpace profile's Inbox:

"Attn : Staff Very Important information

My band "****************" has been scouted by a Motown/ Universal Rep, who wants to see what response we get from radio while we finish our debut album! Which has already been proven explosive! Recently we've opened for R&B sensation NE*YO, played for the Snowboardsing U.S Open After Party,Performed mutiple times at Moheagn Sun Casino! No deals Have been made yet, We truely need the infomation to get material to you and hopefully reviewed! Thanks for your time and help"

Hint to you guys, if you're going to send a message to a fake Sony record exec, you at least should run it through the spellchecker.

"Hi Andrew,

Just wondering what you think of us...thanks and have a lovely weekend!

Best regards,
Sarah"

Ew, a girl!

"Hi!

I never know if people are joking or not, but if you're for real, I USED to be signed to SONY (2 years ago) and hope to be again with my new CD, almost finished. I'll certainly send a copy to Rob Stringer who used to say that he was a fan....

Let me know, if you're for real, what sort of music that you're looking for...I'm NOT a young rock band! ;-)"

Weekly Limerick

The winner of this year's Geek Limerick contest has volunteered to write a weekly limerick for BBspot. I haven't decided where to put it yet, so this week's I'll put in the Mailbag...

From: Seth

Democrats took the House, which Bush fears
May mean they'll stick a wrench in his gears.
"A good Congress," he says,
"Should just follow the Prez."
They reply, "And we will, in two years."

That's all for this week!
