BBspot Mailbag

Now you too can enjoy my Inbox without the annoying spam. Every week I get some amazing e-mail. Some amazing because of the sheer cluelessness of the sender, some because of the time and energy that went into crafting them and some are just simply amazing.

The Da Vinci Code

There isn't enough media attention about the Da Vinci code, so I thought I would add to it ...

Subject: THANK YOU

I just read your DaVinci Code trailer review -- THANK YOU!

I thought I was the only one on the planet who hated Dan Brown's books -- yes, I say "books" because I actually read more than one, thinking I must be wrong.

I obviously don't need to go into all the reasons they're horrible, and I've given "the rant" too many times in the last few months to drag it out again. I think my co-workers bring it up now just to set me off.

One last time -- THANK YOU!

You are not alone, I've received several emails with the same sentiment.

this is the first time I wasn't happy with your "See movie?" rating in a review, so I started off an email. It was going to be about Ron Hubbard as a director, how much did he suck at his other book-to- screen conversion "Battlefield Earth", his unreadable books about Scientology and how this was going to be a complete disaster too. However, as soon as I started to write I noticed the director is actually Ron Howard. My bad.
There's hope after all.

Yes, we can all thank Xenu for that.

Weekly Limerick

The winner of this year's Geek Limerick contest has volunteered to write a weekly limerick for BBspot. I haven't decided where to put it yet, so this week's I'll put in the Mailbag..

I just heard that you're spying on me.
If it's true NSA
Hears each word that I say,
Then at least give me phone calls for free."

History Facts

A couple of readers think I need a history lesson, because of my "mistake" in the X-Men trailer review...

Hmmpf,

I like your funny trailer reviews, but I cannot recommend them to my friends with such an error.

Or was this a joke I did miss?

Thank you for the review.

But it was the Japanese that bombed Pearl Harbor, not the Germans.

I know I'm just a dumb American animal, but you should give me more credit than that. I was of course quoting Bill Murray's famous speech in Stripes.

That's all for this week!
